From what I've seen Snead got a lot more flak when he was working with Fisher than he has since McVay came on board. Whether the type of player McVay wants simply work out more often than a 'Fisher player' or Snead has just gotten better at what he does the Rams' drafts have been among the best in the league the last few years. It also seems that posters who look at the data with an open mind have come around even if they weren't in Snead's camp 3 years ago.
Snead was always good and the drafts from 2012-2016 were by in large good drafts.
Boudreau was not as good as Kromer picking linemen, and Fisher was not as good as McVay picking offensive skill players (though they did pick Goff and Gurley and Hav in those years). But in terms of overall grades, they were still good.
The reason so many were down on Snead before was because they over-reacted to a couple of picks (Austin, Robinson) and dragged everything else down with it. They did not notice that overall--
in general--the drafting was good in those years.
You know who did realize? Both Demoff and McVay. That's why Demoff said before hiring McVay that the team was not rebuilding. And that's why McVay acted as though what he had to do was add to what was already there and not start over. It was not a mistake to see it that way, that was the right call. \\\\
