I’d take Goff in the top 8-10 right now.

I don’t trust Wentz to stay healthy. Ryan does nothing special, and was a total choke job in the SB. Rivers cant win a big game. And Ben is held together with pins and glue.
I'm no Ryan fan but the reality is, he's the better version of Goff. Puts up better numbers and has done it a lot longer. Very similar style but way more production for Ryan. His team may have choked away the Super Bowl but Ryan himself far outshined what Goff did in the SB.

Ryan has to rank higher than Goff at this point.

Puts up better numbers???

Ryan should be better because he has about 8 more years experience as a stater...but Ryan has only had two yearly QB ratings over 100.0 twice in 11 years....he didn't have his first one until his 9th year.

Goff has had two already as essentially a two year starter...you can bang on Goff all you want, but his numbers don't lie....so please check your numbers next time
Goff has put up more efficient numbers but Ryan has put up bigger numbers. More passing yards, better completion %, more TD's. Remember, "Ryan does nothing special" is what is being argued here and that's patently false.

As far as Ryan's ratings, what you might not have considered is those directly coincide with the Falcons getting rid of Mike Smith. He may not be as bad as Jeff Fisher but he was a defensive-minded, conservative coach and it seems that his approach hindered Ryan's overall numbers. Since he left, Ryan has twice tickled 5,000 yards and 40 TD's and posted 108+ rating and won the NFL MVP. Yes, Ryan has been playing better than Goff the last few years.

The most important thing in all this is that Ryan is not a tier 1 QB. And at 34 years old, he’s highly unlikely to get to that level.

Goff is 10 years away from 34. So the argument over who has been better in the past is not as important as you’re making it.
In a conversation about who should be considered better? Ryan is in the prime of his career, not far removed from the league MVP and just last year, replicated the numbers he put up as the MVP. I'd say that's all germane to whether or not he's "better" than Goff. Much less, "does nothing special".
