I can understand "hope"...but to say he will do certain things is complete speculation. That's my point.
It's not "hope." There's degrees of likelihood. And no one said anything about a "certainty." It's true that this is not an accomplished certainty but then no one is acting like it is, so no one needs that lecture. BUT there's a huge difference between a mere "hope" and saying the coach in question has a track record producing 2-down inside run stoppers. Ignore that and you're just not being realistic about this. So in terms of having "done nothing," no that is not completely true. He has impressed and earned the trust of a veteran coach who is used to coaching up 2-down inside run stoppers. Like it or not that is not "NOTHING."
I am just being a realist about this. A realist says, regardless what you think YOU know as a fan, the coach has had this guy in meetings and practices, and promoted him to start. It's not the certainty you're pretending like someone said it is (though no one did), but that is also far more than the NOTHING you claim it is.
