who is more likely to be mixed up?
MJD did not say Gurley TOLD HIM he was injured in game one. MJD
surmised that from the account in December where both Gurley and McVay said his knee had an episode in game one. That's a public account of what happened and I've cited it many times.
IF Gurley injured his knee in game 1, why was there no report? And by injury I mean a rip, tear, break, deep bruise or pull of some kind. Why did he then continue like his old self for several games starting in game 3. And why did both Gurley and the team make it clear that there was no injury, nothing to report, nothing to repair, and so on.
MJD just has his story mixed up. His doesn't make any sense, for one thing. (It has Gurley both recovering quickly and no injury being reported and it defies both the team and Gurley insisting there was no structural damage and nothing to repair.)
There's a lot of news and rumors and talk around this and sometimes it's not easy to sort it all out. But there are some pretty clear things, and sometimes, a guy like MJD comes along and just muddles them. That leaves it up to us to straighten it all out best we can.
