Maurice Jones-Drew: Todd Gurley Was Playing Through Knee Injury All SeasonLos Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley told former NFL rusher and current Rams radio analyst Maurice Jones-Drew he played through his knee injury for the entirety of the 2018 season.
On Friday, MJD provided details of his conversation with Gurley during an appearance on the NFL Network (via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk).
"Yes, he was banged up throughout the season. He got hurt in Week 1, played through it the rest of the season," Jones-Drew said. "He got banged up in Week 1, he played through it, and he kind of just got worn down toward the end of the season."

I think MJD misunderstood the fact that TG had a knee issue in game 1 (which limited him in game 2).
He somehow takes that to mean TG was injured "all season."
No he was never "injured," not if you define injuries correctly.
He did have 2 flare-ups of pain and inflammation, one in game 1 and the other in December. It settled down in both cases.
That does not seem to indicate an INJURY. That, along with the fact that the MRI revealed no structural damage and therefore by definition no injury. What it seems to or might indicate is that he has some kind of underlying condition, like maybe an arthritic condition (though who knows at this point if it's that)---that is, something that can flare up and then calm down later.
So yeah he had 2 incidents with the knee in 2018 but neither meets the definition of an "injury."
Plus whatever his condition is, guys can still play with things like that. (Though it does shorten their career some.) Faulk played with something like that in 2001, even though his knee flared up so bad in the pre-season they sat him for 3 weeks.
