REally the Rams culture all changed with McVay, not the the owner and not the GM.
Same with Pats, the owner is a guy who knows when to say 'yes' to Belliboy, and that is it.
The owner doesn't have to have class, or honor or that stuff, the coach has to--and McVay has
that in spades!
With all the 'nice' guy stuff going on with the Rams towards the players, the staff is intentional, serious and joyful...all things that business can be. McVay has to become less glorifying of players---that will lead to his downfall. Fisher was a lapdog to lazy players like Jenkins....who after he left the Rams became the pro bowler he should have been with he Rams.
I echo your sentiments about McVay, Steve.
Would like to include Snead as a man of honor, too. In the Day 3 episode there was mention of Snead expressing thanks to another club representative calling to say that they were picking another player rather than just leaving Snead hanging over an incomplete trade offer proposal. That other team didn’t have to make that call at such a busy time, but they did, anyway. Snead said that he appreciated the call and said that he “wouldn’t forget it”.
That shows mutual respect and honor between rivals. Says a lot about Snead in the GM community and kinda hints at why he has the ability to find trade partners so well. Very classy behavior on the part of Snead and the unknown GM.
