The former AAF GM had some insight into the defunct league. Less the financials they were running the system with high professional operation
Some of the players they had will find their way into the NFL. 400 players were rostered and he thought that perhaps as high as 10% could find their way onto summer camp rosters. He felt confident that 20 or so for sure would. The new head of AAF that shut it down, insisted they needed support from the NFL or NFLPA to survive. That was probably not true said the GM.
The GM had some calls from NFL teams about some of the players, and how they were some better than ones that were rostered on their own franchise.
There's a need to have a "spring league" imo. I suspect that Elway's XFL will get more support than this failed AAF
As of now, there's a bunch of guys looking for work again. Too bad.
