The circumstances are entirely different.
The 80's in the NFL cannot be compared to the 20teens.
There were fewer NFL teams and fewer NFL games televised.
The NFL was not a year round event for fans back then.
There was no Sunday Ticket or Gamepass.
There was no Thursday and Sunday night football.
The draft was only for the most serious of football junkies and there was no access to the Combine for fans.
There was no 24/7 NFL channel.
Football has become oversold and over exposed. That was not the case 35 years ago.
In this saturated market there is no room for another football league no matter how much money is spent to promote it. Might there be some like yourself who so enjoy the game that saturation is nearly impossible? Obviously. But there's not enough of you to pay for another league.
