It is a lot of money to tie up in one guy in the same way that QBs and Donald tie up a lot of money. He’s been a very productive edge rusher which is the 2nd most expensive position. He’s several tiers above Fowler.
Even if they resign Fowler, they need to upgrade the other side. My plan doesn’t prevent that from happening since it’s essentially eliminating paying big money to average producers in Brockers and Fowler. Take their money and apply it to one guy who has a history of elite production. That’s the idea.
The other side I would address in the draft. The new draftee, OKO, and Ebu can compete for starting privileges.
