If I understand your plan correctly, dz, both edge positions would be well filled, to say the least. And at a reasonably affordable price. Top end affordable, anyway. But it WOULD fix our 2 biggest offseason needs.
However, we would then have 2 holes where Suh and Brockers used to be. Any thoughts abought filling those?
One could be a high pick, sure, and this IS a rich DL draft.
Any money left over for a FA for the other hole? I’m not crazy about 2 rookies on our DL.
And the Barron and Joyner replacements will come from where? FA or draft? Or one of each?
My poor head is swimming, man. Lol.
Maybe I wasn't that clear 43. My plan only addressed one edge position: the one Fowler is at.
Basically it upgrades the Fowler position with Houston. It does this by using some of my Brocker's salary.
I.e. Brockers + Fowler money = Houston + vet NT (Suh replacement). JFM slides into Brock's spot.
And it doesn't call for multiple rookies starting. I'll post my entire plan later when we know who's being cut and franchise tagged.
So it looks like this for the 3 positions being discussed of DE/NT/OLB:
2018
Brockers/Suh/Fowler
2019
JFM/Danny Shelton or Hankins/Justin Houston
The 2019 iteration would be far superior in pass rushing and overall much less expensive.
