Easy answer on Joyner not doing as well in 2018 was they ,offences ,were attacking him wayyy more and I think the safeties had to cover for Peters laying back more and Talib not being there half the time .
I think he and Johnson had to cover a lot more ground and had problems matching up and made mistakes in assignments.
Joyner is at his best when he is in zone and can diagnose and hit going forward in a somewhat short area such as when Countess is single high or Cody Davis was in single high as a third Safety.
It's no surprise when they played some of there best D out of that look.
He's a liability in a size matchup vs a TE or RB or a receiver who can run a 4.5 to his 4.6 .
Joyner is a football player thru and thru but he has some very transparent weaknesses .
