In 2017 Blythe was the OL's 6th man. He played only 197 snaps- all at center until he started the season finale vs. SF at LG. But he had taken all the practice reps with the 1s once a week during the year to help rest Sullivan. That experience really helped him.
Noteboom was similar. While they had him in several spots in camp and preseason (to be prepared to be the OL's 6th man) he took starters reps once a week for Whitworth all season. He only took 78 snaps on offense all year but he was active every game and also played ST. I think he could absolutely be ready to start in 2019. And I think he will, either at RG (with Blythe moving to center), LG if Saffold leaves or LT if Whitworth retires. I love Saffold and hope they can resign him to a decent deal, but their best path forward might be letting him go (netting a 3rd round comp pick) and having Noteboom start next to Whitworth for a year before taking over at LT in 2020.
