I second Deadpool's post below. In essence: who said McVay is looking for a TE to create space in the middle?
When you see the passing game being just inside the numbers to the sideline you have to start thinking it's not just personnel; it's likely scheme that's more to account for that.
The Rams seem to think he can create space in the endzone because he's been targeted there quite a bit over the last few weeks.
