That may be us making assumptions. This crew of coaches doesn't throw guys under the bus but they don't sugarcoat either. So if they're saying J is doing the job he's supposed to then probably he is.
That doesn;'t mean he's playing the way we expect. But it's not either/or. Disaster or superstar
You don't know what his role is, which is different from last year. Both Phillips and McVay have directly shot down the idea that he isn't performing well. They talk about the fact that his responsibilities put him deep in the back end. Neither coach will throw a guy under the bus but neither coach sugar coats it either.
So right now none of us is offering anything on Joyner, good or bad, that is anything but vague hunches.
Though the coaches claim to be happy with him and VB backs that talking to the staff behind the scenes.
That may or may not offer the truth but it can't just be dismissed either.
