No way half of all the starting RTs in the league would be as good or better than Havenstein. That’s patently preposterous.
You were doing fine before you went off the deep end with that whopper.
I stand by it. I think it's perfectly legit.
What I don't get is elevating him into something he isn't.
He is playing well in this offensive system, but there are real reasons no one predicted that, based on who and what he is as a player.
If he is being elevated into a top RT that’s no worse than you demoting him to a bottom half of the league RT.
Many players surprise after there are real reasons not to predict them being a good player. That’s not a legit argument against Havenstein.
I maintain that he at least a top half of the league RT. That doesn’t mean they are hard to find, just that he is. It also doesn’t mean they shouldn’t let him walk in 2 years either.
I didnt' demote him into a bottom half of the league ROT.
I said that many different players would be elevated by playing for Kromer on this line.
That doesn't mean what you took it to mean.
First off I don't think rankings are absolute, I think they're relative.
Second off to say another solid (or better) ROT could play well in this system for this coach and with this OL is a compliment to the system, coach, and overall OL synergy.
If you said to me, take Hav in and of himself regardless of circumstances, just based on his overall skill set and physical talent, where you would put him among league ROTs and I would always say solid, next tier down from the top 10.
So if you reacting to some thing about him being demoted to the bottom half, that's you misreading me.
I said playing on this line now with this coach etc. would elevate a lot of different players.
Now I may be wrong about that, and you may be wrong about that...but me saying that does not mean Hav is inherently a bottom half player, but it is saying that whoever plays on this OL benefits. That's a completely different thing.
