That's the Barnwell argument. It's interesting, but not realistic, IMO. Unless you know there is a perpetual supply of quality QBs coming into the league, it will just get everyone fired when you pick one that busts. And, IMO, it's not good for team morale. But, also, QBs need to start thinking about their team as a whole and how much 30-35 M/year may affect their team in the future. I hope when Goff comes due he's not trying to set new salary records, but understands how good he has it with the Rams and McVay and will accept a salary (highest on the team, no doubt) that won't hinder the teams ability to compete. Not Tom Brady and his 15M, (with under the table cheating), but not top of the salary charts either. We not me. I think he might.
