Our HC is a smart dude...McVay wanted Hem to do well...loved his athleticism/effort...but in the end the kid didn't step up...
and instead of having Hem take up a spot...he cut the kid. GREAT follow thru by McVay to keep the players who do well in games...
I'm really happy bout that!
Howdy.
You know I hate disagreeing with you. I like agreeing with you more.
But, I don't think Hemingway didn't step up. I think he gave the effort and had the right frame of mind.
I just think he's another 6th round pick who didn't have enough to make it, regardless of his effort. It's not that he didn't step up, it's that he was never going to cut it.
And...that means McV made a mistake pumping him up in public the way he did.
Can't do that.Yet, all summer Hemingway was the "disappointing player" whipping boy. The negative stuff all went to the player. The problem was never the player...most 6th round picks who try aren't going to make it regardless of the trying. The problem was the coach jumping the gun with unwarranted expectations.
....
Are you serious? Why blame McVay? He obviously liked the kid and wanted him to succeed. What was he supposed to do? Bash the kid? C'mon, be real. Bashing him "in public" wouldn't have helped and would not have been a very classy way to go. McVay is class and a "players coach" and he would never do that. Has bashed anyone publicly? Not that I can recall.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
