They will have to pay Wentz. Cox goes to 22 M in 2018. Lane Johnson's 2nd contract gives them a cap break in 2018 (4.9 M) but next year it goes up to 15.3 M. The DT Jernigan gives them a cap break in 2018 (5 M) but goes up next year (13 M). Alshon Jeffrey goes from 4 M in 2018 to 14.7 M in 2019. Brandon Brooks goes to 11+ M in 2019. Nelson Agholor goes to 9+ M in 2019. This keeps going.
They do do things differently than the Rams. Essentially they backload deals and overspend the future. That's why they have the lowest cap space of all 32 teams in 2019, and that's before paying Wentz. They are actually on the books as being 30 M in the hole in 2019...their cap stands at NEGATIVE 30 M for 2019 and that's even with the cap going up. In contrast in 2019 the Rams have the 6th most cap space with 58 M free.
