OK...so, a couple of weeks back, Jason LaCanfora tweeted that AD had told some people close to him that he was anticipating a deal being done prior to camp. If this is true, then there'd have to be a reason for Donald to do this (i.e. a framework had been agreed to).
But the Rams have just completed their 1st week of camp and there's still no deal.
I'm not hating on AD's agent, but it's well-documented that he (the agent) sweats the details in rookie contracts (where the framework is already essentially established).
I have to wonder if his agent told him (a couple of weeks back) that a framework on an extension had been agreed to and that it'd take another couple of weeks to hammer out the details. But Todd France being "Todd France," he's driving a hard bargain on everything (again, not hating on it).
But I suspect that Donald sees the finish line here and wants this thing wrapped up.
The hourglass is a message for Mr. France.
Either that or his pizza delivery is late.
AD using a highly public tweet to send a message to his own agent makes no sense, BRO. Isn’t that what a phone is for? Lol.
And yet, do you doubt that people use tweets (and emojis) to send messages?
I'm not trying to clown, but how old are you 43? I'm 48 myself and will admit to not "getting" the purpose of tweeting. Like you said: Why not pick up the phone? But I'm sure that you have to realize that people in their 20's and 30's don't subscribe to a dusty 48-year olds mentality.Quote

Agreed. That's why I stated that I was clearly speculating.
I just turned 75 last month, BRO. And believe me, I’m no twitter devotee. Don’t have an account, never will.
But I do understand messaging. Question: Aren’t there a million better ways for AD to send a “message” than an ultra cryptic tweet showing only an hourglass?
To me? Yes.
But I'm 48 and Donald is 27. I'm willing to bet that most people his age don't use their cell phones to "talk" with anyone. They're not going to send an email either - they've no idea what that is.
Again, this is pure speculation. But the use of the hourglass emoji denotes that someone (or something) is on the clock. And unless it deals with the amount of time left before he goes public with a trade demand, I don't believe that AD is directing this solely at the Rams. After all, they (the Rams) have got more of that (i.e. time) than he does.
