you're missing the actual argument

Haynesworth sure was the most dominant defensive player in football before signing the huge contract. When I see someone dismiss his play with the Titans all credibility is lost.

He may have been a (*&# human, but he was dominant on the field with the Titans.

His character issues were known. Most of the infamous incidents with him took place in Tenn. You can refresh yourself on that much easily by doing something as simple as going to wikipedia and reading about his Titans years. Signing him was a mistake, one in a long list of Washington's mistakes signing people.

You are mistaking physical skill for being a top player. Absolutely everything that piled up revealing Haynesworth to have huge emotional and character flaws--and that was all widely known--is known, dead KNOWN, to be exactly the opposite with Donald. Donald does not dominate physically, though he's plenty strong and quick and has great leverage. What separates Donald from every other physically gifted wannabe is his dedication, work ethic, and constant honing of his game. For example D'Marco Farr stuck around in the league because he was great at using his hands. You learn that, it's not a natural skill. When Donald was drafted Farr outright said he ALREADY had the best hand usage of any DT he had seen. You don't get that without work.

AH tried to get by on physical skill alone and undermined it with character issues and dedication issues.

AD is known, universally, to be the exact opposite of that.

I don't want to get weird or be personal but I have to say this. It;s not aimed at anyone in particular, it's just a general comment. This is our team, we follow them religiously, and here is one of the best players in the Rams entire history, a history that includes guys like Youngblood, Olsen, and Jones. Yet a contract issue comes up and some in that discussion sometimes act as if they don't realize who or what this guy is. It reminds me of debates in 2000 when Warner was up for a new deal and Zygmunt was publicly balking at paying him the amount required. And some fans actually sided with Zygmunt. They were saying things like well they don't need Warner. And this was after 99. All because of a contract issue.

  character issues rarely stop teams

ferragamo79118July 27, 2018 07:46AM

I don't know what the relevance of that is compared to the actual argument

zn136July 27, 2018 07:52AM

just pointing character issues rarely have to do anything

ferragamo79125July 27, 2018 08:11AM
