Please, no more speculation that the Rams are cheap and/or can’t sign top players that they really want.
What the heck is so wrong with Rams making AD the highest paid D player in the history of the NFL?
AD loses net money in his pocket every year that he fails to sign an extension. A classic “cut off your nose to spite your face” strategy. This has been explained on this board at length.
As others have mentioned, even an All World DT can affect a game from a loss to a win just so much. IOW, he ain’t no QB, and will never be paid as one.
He will obviously play in ‘18, even without an extension. Each snap he needlessly risks a career threatening injury. Not smart.
I think his agent is giving him some terrible career advice.
He is now starting to lose the PR battle in these negotiations.
Enough is enough, AD! Get the respect and admiration that would come with being the highest paid defender in league history, the security of $70-80 million guaranteed, and the opportunity to play for amazing coaches and on a team that seems loaded for a long dynasty type run.
This is not that complicated and you shouldn’t overthink it.
