And for the record I think the article is pro-management spin and there;s absolutely no real basis for determining if it's right or not since there are no real figures circulating.
A modest increase over Von Miller may look like a lot to some (it won't in a few years though). And some point out that no a modest increase over Von Miller is simply not enough, and that's even if guys like VB happen to personally believe it is.
In terms of the press, maybe the shallow talking heads guys may go for the "blame the player" mantra, but I have seen dedicated analysts who say the Rams are still not grasping how much you pay a player like that.

But that doesn't mean that a lot of us will be able to resist lining up and taking sides anyway. The sides-taking just isn't based on anything real. Not at this point anyway.
