Let me first say that I've been spectacularly wrong on this type of exercise before. The FA market can be crazy. I guessed $14M would be the absolute top of the market for Watkins and thought the Rams could get it done for quite a bit less than that. So maybe all guesses should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'd personally be willing to get into the $23-$24M per year range for AD. I'd rather have one ultra elite player than two good players. Also, I believe there metrics that indicate his impact is far above any other defenders.

I know this is blasphemous but I stated before that the D starting off the '17 season in the 27th range for points allowed without AD and then making a steady and consistent climb to essentially 10th to end the season, suggest to me that his impact may be approaching a QB's impact. (but not an elite QB like Brady or Rodgers...) There are just very few players where the entire scheme is built around them like Wade did with Donald.

If he was a free agent, $150M over 6 years ($25M per) would not completely shock me.
