AD will be under contract. He refused to report for whatever reason, it is HIS decision alone. This is just definitively true.
First, any trade talk is not about this season. It's about next off-season. At that point he may face having to demand a trade if the Rams try to tag him. At that point he will not be under contract though he also won't be a free agent if the Rams have designated him for a tag. He would have to sign the tag to be actually under contract. Personally, rather than face playing 7 years way below my market value (5 contract years and 2 tag years) and waste my prime that way, if it were me, I would demand the trade. In fact it would be the only rational thing to do at that point.
So everything said about trades applies to next year.
This year he will report by Aug 7, new deal or no new deal. And play for anything from 33% to 28% of his worth (assuming any extension will be in the 21-24 M range).
Oh and btw I don't endorse the idea that "under contract" is this sanctimonious duty. In the NFL, since it's a labor/league compromise, refusing to report is a legit labor action when it comes to contract negotiation. Either way, that doesn't apply to this year. He will report this year.
