intil we actually know the numbers, we do not know if it is true that any offer to Donald is sufficiently good enough. For example if Demoff is correct, and they are trying to pay AD AMONG the top defenders, then an offer less than Von Miller's 2016 contract qualifies. The handful of reporters you heard on NFL net can SAY "it's a big offer" but unless we know the numbers we cannot judge if it's a valid real fair market value offer.
I don't see people adequately responding to that argument. It's like the old "opt out clause" mis-report. "Multiple people said it." No one guy speculated and others echoed him. Turns out now it doesn't even come up. But I was told that was "multiple reports."
So again--unless we actually know the numbers, any claim from SOME reporters (ie. the small fraction of them you saw on a NFL.net show) that the offer is big can't be tested as real. They could think it's big, when in reality, it's not.
I am sincerely asking for a legit response to that.

I tend to believe there are plenty of people who have a pretty good idea of what this offer looks like...I also believe Vinny wouldn't be quoted saying things like that if he didn't believe it either.
Where there is smoke there is fire.... obviously the offer hasn't been made public and highly doubt the Rams would do that, but it sounding more and like these reports are closer to the truth then not.
Well I tend not to believe anyone knows. What I do believe is that the Rams are trying to paint it a certain way and a handful of reporters are repeating that stuff without really knowing. Meanwhile Demoff's remarks make the claim that the offer is substantial look doubtful.
Sometimes where there is smoke there's fire, but sometimes where there's smoke there's a smokescreen. It depends on what you think the smoke is. What if the smoke is THIS: Demoff saying that the offer would make AD AMONG the highest paid defenders means a lowball (it can't be taken any other way if he literally means that).
Until and unless we have the figures we honestly do not know. Is it situation A or situation B or even something else?
SITUATION A: Rams have a substantial offer out there that makes him the highest paid defender and Donald is balking.
SITUATION B: Rams, if Demoff literally meant what he said, are NOT making him the highest paid defender but "among" them, which means 19 M or less, which isn;t enough in 2018. But the Rams send out signals to reporters painting it as if they had this big offer when they don't. Under these circumstances Donald is right to negotiate for more.
Unless and until we know the real figures, we dont know which situation it actually is.
And that has nothing to do with what we do believe, want to believe, tend to believe, and so on. Fact is without figures we cannot objectively judge whether it's situation A, situation B, some combination of both, or neither.
