Goff is doing very well, but he’s not a top 10 QB just yet. And I think that’s fair.
Too bad, but he and the media were not intelligent enough to realize that a seven game sample size is simply not adequate to make a well informed judgement about an athlete.
The rush to stupidity was a product of contemporary culture and the fact that it emphasizes assertion over content. That encourages big chested bozos like Curley to spew mindlessness in an attempt to get information out first.
The result is what we saw and heard most of last season from the media: a lot of baffled looks, stammering, or simple silence.
Curley is still trying to redeem the embarrasment of last season however he can, but his deception is at an end.
He is just a bad journalist.
I speak as a friend but I am going to disagree. Curley didn't say what you seem to think he did. As fans we don't have to be this defensive.
And I speak as someone who stood by Goff through 2016 and defended him last summer too.
Curley quite simply did not say what you seem to think he did. Give it a listen. He said Goff's playing well, but he expected to see more in his 3rd year. The issue is the "expecting more." That;s on Curley but then it's also no big deal.
If we're going to condemn all of sports journalism because of THAT then IMO we're being too sensitive.
Just a difference of opinion. And go Rams.
