I don't think most teams anticipated an early run on centers, which may have pushed other guys like Allen up. Ragnow going 20th and Price going 21st were earlier than most projected, which led other teams to move on centers early. The Rams may have pegged Allen for the 5th or 6th, but when the other centers started coming off the board early, and they really liked Allen, they had to revise their plans. Hard to call it a "reach", unless by reach you mean "I" don't consider him a fourth round prospect even though he was taken in the fourth round.
