Mine is simple.
Goff
AD
Peters (assuming he can keep his hands flat and not in a fist)
Those guys are no brainers. Sign them and never look back. I can overlook Peter's knuckleheaded demeanor so long as he stays clean. I don't care if he's a punk on the field or a punk off the field so long as it's not in the Rams locker. He is special.
The next group are:
Gurley
Cooks
Gurley has had history of bad injuries. Plus, the sad part of the business is just that...the business. Locking up a rb is a bad financial investment. I would love to keep him but if the Rams feel that doing so will have a chance of crippling the team I'd play the franchise game. He's a top 3 RB so paying him as a top 5 is good business while they assess the future.
Cooks is a flyer for me. The idea of him sounds wonderful. I thought the same about Watkins last year. I reserve the right to judge him with my eyes and bail if I want. I do not want a Folks situation.
Kupp JJ are too young for me to think about when it comes to the core.
Joyner is the next tier. What is his cost versus snap value? What does the future safety market hold?
Brockers is not even a consideration. Obviously he is a good player. He's already getting paid handsomely. In this market he would be losing money by reupping at the same cap hit. Plus he loses value if for some reason Wade can't continue.
Phillips age has to be considered. Heaven forbid something happen or if he retires. While the Rams may stay 3-4 some players will likely lose value with modest scheme tweaks.
