Even at their highest, punter/kicker contracts would rarely if ever be high enough to count among a team's core top contracts.
They are in the 3-4 M range, those contracts.
The BIG contracts are at least 8 M.
So it's one thing to say you want to keep those 2. Makes sense. And can be done.
It's another thing to count them among the top contracts in your team, which ought to go to the highest priced keepers. Like Goff.
So the 2 things aren't mutually exclusive. You can list a top contract core (which is usually 8-10 players) AND keep guys like JH/GZ. You can do both things.
