Your comment is about humans in general and wealth in general. In fact that kind of generalized comment is SO generalized it can't be tortured into being a specific commentary on NFL players and their contracts.

I mean according to that over-generalized commentary about humans in general, owners should be unhappy because the tv contracts went up, making them wealthier. Yet I never see endless posts about owners accepting "too much." It's always players.

Looking at it in terms of the real specifics--

there is no specific evidence that NFL players, speaking of them specifically, sacrifice their happiness by signing contracts giving them what they are worth in the NFL contracts market.

It just sounds like a generalization about humans overall is then weaponized to add to the chorus of fan mantras about how players should play for less, to make US happy.

Meanwhile, speaking for myself, I am never any happier or unhappier if an NFL player signs for this much or that much.
