It was interesting to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic turn down $100m to go and play soccer in China and accept a contract of $3m to play for the L.A. Galaxy.
He pointed out that his happiness was worth more than $97,000,000 - There is a guy who gets it.
What we then need is evidence that NFL players who accept higher contracts are doing it at the expense of their happiness.
Since there is no such evidence, I actually regard this as just one more myth to bash player contracts.
It;s just a thing we fans like to do. We want them to play cheaper for us. There's no good reason for that, we just like it.
