The Rams can do even better than that. They can sign him to a 5-year contract with a $30M signing bonus and a first year salary of $1M. That's $31M directly in AD's pocket and only a $7M cap hit in year 1. Just for grins, salary the last 4 years of $25M, $23M, $21M, and $19M. There's 5 years, $119M with no impact on the cap in 2018.
IMO, there is no way AD signs a 5 year deal. He will want an "out" after 2-3 years so he can get another BIG payday.
You could do a similar structure with a 3 year extension. The only difference being he'll get a little bit less in signing bonus money.
4-year contract (3 year extension) with a $24M signing bonus and a first year salary of $1M. That's $25M directly in AD's pocket and only a $7M cap hit in year 1. Salary the last 3 years of $25M, $23M, and $22.2M. There's 4 years, $95.2M with no impact on the cap in 2018.
