Not to say that your point is not right Jemach, because it is. It just comes down to ability to fill needs at the positions that are more critical than others. It appears that in Wade's defense, the focus is on D Line & secondary. The only exception is OLB who acts as a D lineman and rushes the passer. Of course, every position is important but the ILB's and OLB's in this defense can be filled with mid to late round picks and under the radar FA acquisitions in my humbled opinion. Not saying its right, just saying its my thoughts is all.
I again enjoy the clear reasoning that characterizes your posts. Yes Wade does need his outside rusher, not just in the base 3/4 but also in 4 DL pass rush packages.
The problem for the 2018 Rams is, it's a challenge to find a rookie capable of 8 or more sacks. You can though find OLB/edge guys in rounds 2-4. It's just that a rookie won't usually give you that kind of production.
The ideal with Donald is to pair him with a guy who can rush from the edge, and then it starts getting deadly. Granted that last year Quinn wasn't himself most of the season yet they STILL managed to be 4th in both sacks and sack percentage. Still, they need a guy or 2. They might already have one, but they will (IMO) be greedy and get more.
