First, it;s not qb money. QB money last we looked is 28 M. AD is most likely to be in the range of 21-24 M. That money stopped being qb money before last year. (Not saying you're saying it is qb money. Just going with your flow here.)
Aaron Rodgers "presently" makes $22M
Russell Wilson "presently" makes $21.9M
Joe Flacco - $22M
Big Ben - $21.8M
So IF Donald gets $21-$24M that IS qb money.
Qb money is escalating but so are other positions.
Contracts don't work that way.
The way they work is that you account for THE MOST RECENT MARKET for players up for their 2nd contract.
All a lower amount for either Rodgers or Wilson means is that they came up in earlier years. That's all. That's it.
The market goes up. Right now qb money is 28 M and rising.
There is no magic unwritten rule that says if some qbs somewhere on older contracts make at least 20 M then no other player at any other position can make 20 M.
So when I say "qb money is X" I am just following the way the market works. Contracts go up (again, using starters up for a 2nd contract as the standard). That means the amount is different each year. And again right now qb money is in the 28 M range.
Doing it any other way just completely ignores how the market works.
