Yeah it's not safe to make the old "player asking too much" assumption.
IF there IS a problem it's at least equally plausible to assume that it's the Rams lowballing.
No team gives a player whatever they want no matter what...that's just message board rhetoric. Should a player accept a team's offer no matter what?
When we lack information, which in this case, you're right, we most decidedly do, is it fair to assume that the problem is the player? Or is it fair to assume the problem is the team? How about the safest assumption---it's either neither or both.
We do know at least this much. NOTHING the Rams have said about any of this even remotely suggests that AD is a problem. They did suggest that with both Tru and Watkins---in both cases we heard, we would like them back if we can do it. That, translated, means the Rams are not going to pay them what they are asking. In AD's case, in contrast, all we hear is we want to do this, we want to get it done. There have been hints that it was harder to structure an extension in 2017 than it would be in 2018 (in 2018 they can use 2019 cap space to structure things so it is, yeah, easier). That's it. We heard structure issues, not "amount" issues.

Interesting response zn. I see you edited it twice so I know it was well thought out.
It could very well be "both" sides are the problem. That is the issue.
We just don't know. I have not taken a side in this debate for that reason. I have seen the Rams "lowball" players and I have seen them "over pay" players. I have also seen players ask for more than they might be worth. I can understand both sides. We might not EVER know the truth to this one.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
