that they would team peters with talib but i think you are correct in that their teammates seem to like them. for instance, talib was voted team captain last year.
I didn't think pairing them was a good idea and posted that yesterday.
It's why I said maybe the Rams don't see it that way. I'm trying to see it from their perspective.
I think we've got to trust that the Rams are not going to put a bunch of people in that locker room that they feel are going to destroy or take over the team.
These are the same people identified that the culture needed to change last year and were successful in implementing that change.
They know about culture, they talked about culture, they value culture. That was one of the major themes last year.
They didn't suddenly forget that culture is important.
So I'm trusting that they are smart enough not to be tearing down the very thing they built last year.
They lucked into a good team because Whitworth was available.
That does not make them league-leading "culture" experts.
We have NO idea if this team can handle a renegade CB duo at their worst.
That actually reamains to be seen.
....
While I agree that we don't KNOW how they will handle those "renegade" CBs, I reject the statement that they lucked into a good culture and the implication that they know nothing about how to build a strong culture.
We saw many dozens of articles last year about how McVay studied the great coaches, studied their leadership abilities and how they built winning cultures.
We heard them talk over and over how they brought in Whitworth, Barwin, and Woods for their leadership and strong influence in the locker room. Those players were targeted for a purpose. Nothing to do with luck.
We saw McVay introduce a new slogan from Day 1: "We Not Me." They even got t-shirts emblazoned with this slogan for every employee. And every move they made from that point was with that culture in mind. This was reported dozens of times, right?
We saw them trade or allow players to walk that didn't fit that new culture. And it was reported that the express reasons given for those decisions were lack of fit in the new team culture.
We heard the players talk about the implementation of the new culture.
As I stated, a change in culture was a major, indeed, THE major theme in last year's team. No my friend, I vigorously disagree that it was only about bringing in Whitworth.
