The strengths and weaknesses of this team were on full display in this game.
Gurley was a beast and was hurt by some questionable penalties.
Goff was very good and was hurt by penalties as well. And the OL had some breakdowns that hurt him as well.
Watkins showed that he gives up on deep balls. Very concerning. The contrast between him and Alshon was stark.
TruJ is a journeyman CB. Too many penalties to give him much money. That guy could never play for Belichick.
Ogletree is erratic. He's not anywhere near a pro bowl level player. The Eagles exposed his weaknesses. I am very skeptical of the extension.
Barron is a goner. He's a liability in this defense.
Goff really missed Woods. Kupp was good but he was the only WR option Goff had faith in.
The Rams need significant help on the defensive side of the ball. They just aren't big and strong enough right now. The physicality of the Eagles really stood out against the Rams.
IMO you're overstating everything.
What you just described is not a 37-35 game (which is what it was without the freak fumble return in the final few seconds). And that's coming back froim 24-14 at the half.
That's 35 points against the league's 4th ranked defense (not all offensive points of course). Not just the 4th ranked D, the 4th ranked D of a superbowl team.
You're also comparing a team that was in its first year in both its offensive and defensive systems v. a well-coached team that was in its 2nd year in both systems.
Your tone and whole take on this sounds like you're responding to the 2016 Atlanta game. People see different things, and to me, it was nothing like that.
