Will he expect top 10 WR money? Has he done enough in his body of work to deserve it?
Not questioning his talent, which is elite when healthy.
I appreciate having him out there helps create opportunities for the rest of the offense.
The question is, if Rams have a spread it around kind of offense (throw to Gurley, Woods, Kupp, two TEs, etc.) and he won't be getting anywhere close to top 10 numbers, is he worth a break the bank contract?
But maybe he will set his sights lower on a contract, will any team give him top 10 money in free agency?
Maybe they can franchise him instead of TruJo.
One thing is, giving up a 2018 second round pick would be prohibitively expensive for a one year rental? No idea if it is common to have preliminary re-signing expectation discussions before pulling the trigger on a trade, but that factor would seem to point towards retention. Plus Goff is improving from week to week, and could be dominant in a few years, a rising passing tide that lifts all receiving boats. As it were.
