I find it amusing that people who do watch film think they get more out it than they really can
I am not singling anyone out here and there is value in watching film
But unless you know the actual play call and the progressions and what has been communicated from the coach to the qb and the rest of the team then you are just guessing
Furthermore one does not need to watch game film to form an educated opinion although it cannot hurt
With that being said in my opinion Wilson would be about an average qb if suddenly he was not allowed to scramble and play schoolyard football
But the problem is he is allowed to do it and the mere threat of his scrambling probably helps his in the pocket performance because it influences the defense
Wilson is who he is and that will not change because he has done it his whole life
Not my kind of qb because once again in my opinion that type of qb does not win Super Bowls without a great running game and a great defense
I want a pocket qb like Goff or Brady or Manning or Montana etc
Rodgers and Young are outliers so I do not include them because in the history of the nfl there have only been 2 of them
Wilson is a good guy and a good qb but he is never going to sit in the pocket and strike fear into the opponent without the threat of running
And eventually he will probably get hurt and that part of his game will disappear just like all the other running qbs
So once again this is just my opinion and of course I always think I am right and I usually am
