I'm saying that while the pressure on Wilson has been way too much, it doesn't all have to do with poor pass blocking by the Oline. Some of it is the lack of a running game, which is a combo of not very good RBs plus not very good run blocking in the oline. Some of it is also on WRs who can't seem to get quick enough separation except on scramble drills.
So, yes, his oline sucks. What's new. And BTW, that's why I think some high priced talent is gone; they MUST fix the oline or Wilson is not going to survive. I expect to see Sherman and Bennett both gone after this season. Maybe even Graham (is he really worth the money? He's a poor blocker and is no good on scramble drills).
The problem remains that Wilson makes his biggest plays OUTSIDE the pocket. Always has. This is his game. Sure, like any legit QB he can throw from a well protected pocket. But unlike any legit pocket passer, he takes off really quickly when there is pressure because he REALLY trusts his legs (rightly so!!). And, he's not chastised for it because he makes good things happen when he does. And, all his highlight reel stuff is about him running and scrambling because that is the unique part of his game. What is Goff's highlight reel stuff? Throwing a strike downfield, in the pocket, with guys around his feet, at a crucial moment. That's the difference. Goff simply does NOT want to run because that is not part of his DNA. He's all about timing, footwork, reading D's, going through his progressions, and throwing accurate passes. Wilson is different.
