With all due respect, I simply disagree with everything you said to the point where it’s easier just to say whatever you posted put me down for the exact opposite.
No hard feelings. I just have an opposite take. Yours is fine too, I just like mine better for me.
I’ve laid out my take in many other threads, and I feel very comfortable with them.
The difference, Max, is everything I say comes from reading every word of the info I describe. There is a real record of this and it's thick and it includes outside reporters who were given access.
Now either they engaged in an elaborate deception for several years, with every major player (coach, GM, president) repeating the same lies independently, and then outside reporters (and it's plural) given access to the process echoing those lies...or, more likely, they left a real record.
These guys were (and are) very forthcoming about their process.
And outside of 5 years (and now more) of them speaking about the process and reporters seeing it...what is there?
Nothing. Now and then a stray reporter with no special access tossing out a tweet.
They recorded their history. It's rich, thick, detailed, and came from many venues, and it;s consistent and it holds up.
You either know that material or you're just guessing. It really is one or the other. When a team talks about its own process THAT much THAT often and it's all transparent and holds up, that's basically an historical record.
If I went back through time and posted it all, it would take days and days to post and days and days to read it all.
There was nothing closed or mysterious about the Rams personnel decision processes (doesn't mean they published their draft rankings---talking about the process).
Remember on a different board, I am kind of that board's RamBill, and I was kind of obligated to know about and post every bit of that for 5+ straight years. That's everything---articles, press conferences, radio interviews, Demoff chats, outside reporters with access describing how picks were made (and that's more than one reporter and more than one time), etc. etc. etc.
So either there's a conspiracy to repeat all the same lies in all that (good luck with that if they tried it) OR (and this was the case) the Fisher/Snead Rams were just if anything overeager to talk about how their process worked. And they were (over-eager) and they did (talk about it extensively multiple times).
So for example we have long detailed descriptions of what it was like to do the Goff/Wentz workouts, and then following that, a very long detailed MMQB piece describing how Snead went about negotiating the trade up (which came after the workouts).
We KNOW what happened. It's out there.
