GREG ROBINSON.
And Snead will never get to wash that out of his hair. EVER..
Well different people look at this differently.
What I notice is that drafting OL in the 1st round is not the surefire high hit percentage it used to be. I once posted a bunch of articles about this...because of the spread, judging linemen is harder than ever, and what used to be the safest position to take in round isn't anymore.
Robinson is not the only miss on a 1st round OL in the last few years.
But Snead WAS part of drafting, among other things,
two guys being legitimately talked about as league MVP, one of whom is considered one of if not the best defensive players in the league, and the other is a top RB and top weapon who has been visibly dominating games.
Then on top of it, they drafted a guy who is a clear, straightforward franchise qb and who is also doing well.
You can judge this the way you want, but, the GR bust just does not count for more than those things in my eyes.
I mean name the last time you saw a team with 2 league MVP candidates.
And that's not all they got from 2012-15 either. The list is long. It's just that Donald and Gurley stand out...and Goff shines too. But there's a lot more besides them, from one of the best free safeties in the game to subs and special teamers like Littleton and Hager who can come in and not miss a beat on defense.
So they prepared a great meal with a wonderful main course and farm fresh first rate accompaniments but...they burned the peas.
I'll take it.
