They ended up being all time greats. Plus, they were not viewed as projects. They were viewed like Joe Thomas...locks who play at an incredible level for more than one year in college. Ok...Ill cede that there are solid OTs taken but you can find those guys later outside a top 5 pick. We should have traded down.
As for those experts...they make the mistake so many do...they start focusing on measurables and not results and longevity of success. You see it after every combine.
As for consensus, my son had Aaron Donald #1 on his board and Mack as #2. Sometimes people stick with the film and not how mobile and big a guy is.
And if everyone knew he blocked 6 plays, played well for one season and would take time to develop, then get them out if the draft room.
