Last week McVay said Goff did some good things when things didn't go as planned. So I'm thinking they are trying to make it easy for him. Perhaps the INT's in practice are when they put him in tougher situations.
Once the bullets start flying and teams start really blitzing and scheming, then we'll have a better idea of how the passing game is going to go.
I am a Goff fan for the most part. I have a higher opinion of him than most and I thought he did a pretty good job last year with little support and getting the snot knocked out of him. I am optimistic for the season too. And I do think that McVay will do his best to make things as easy for Goff as he can. Which, like you said, is basically what he is supposed to do. But there's a limit to that when defenses don't cooperate. All IMO
