Because somebody needs to explain to these muppets that the difference in happiness between somebody with $50m in the bank and somebody with $75m is zero.
A bit fat zero.
It has no effect on their happiness levels whatsoever yet they act like their life depended on it.
Loving your job has a big impact, but still people do jobs they hate to earn money they often don't really need.
Oh well.
... you're assuming that the $50m or $75m is all for their own consumption. You seem very much a social justice guy (which I very much appreciate). What would the difference between $50m and $75m be to YOU? To me, it'd be $25m, which would mean a GREAT deal to all the people in my extended family I could help, all the causes I currently support (at very modest levels), and ll the causes I don't support but would love to. Obviously, weighed against all the work to be done in the world, and even very close at hand, millions of $$$ are nothing - but all the more reason, just one reason, why a difference of *only* $25m would mean a lot. To me, certainly. And a LOT of these guys come from very modest backgrounds and get a lot of celebrity and exposure to even wider areas of need.
