Not sure why people would be upset that I think Tavon Austin is a waste of a uniform. There are people all over this board saying worse things about other players.
I don't want to get too mired in the Tavon thing. I've said my piece repeatedly. I think he's a gadget player whom we can't afford. In the Fisher era, he offered a little something, but to me he was a distraction that they played around with when they should have been working on offensive fundamentals. I think his elusiveness and effectiveness as a gadget are vastly overrated. And his contract extension was, in my view, an egregious mistake.
In the McVay era, I think he is clearly superfluous on the roster and a serious cap drain. I don't believe McVay sees much value in him. Lingering injuries aren't helping, and I honestly do not see his value for this team right now. I think they are making other offensive plans and will shed his salary as soon as they can.
Now, one of my faults, as you all know, is being long-winded. Sometimes I try to compress myself and make a brief comment. I'm not that great at it, but I try. In this post, I got myself down to 1 sentence. I thought that would be good.
But, I guess I offended folks. Well, I apologize for that. I'll try to be careful to show respect for players that other posters have affection for.
