I agree that Donald doesn't want to risk a loss of a big contract with a camp injury. And the Rams aren't pushing the issue....yet. I think we all are probably correct in thinking that Donald is keeping himself in shape. Even if this gets drawn out to the end of preseason, the whole thing will be forgotten once a contract is signed. However, how will it affect the D to have Donald trying to catch up on the new scheme, as Donald always has played in a 4-3?
If this gets drug out into the regular season, I suspect the Rams will start taking a harder stand. Maybe not publicly, but the financial penalties will add up. Even though both sides understand and accept that Donald doesn't want to risk an injury, there is a valid legal contract in place and needs to be honored at some point, such as when the games start to count for real.
