and Wade in charge of the defense. I like many of the acquisitions... and I believe I have more confidence in some of the vets than most - - like Austin, Havenstein, Ogletree, Joyner...
I can't quite jump up and down with glee, however.... because of our WR's and QB. In the first case, our WR's, I'm close.... there is work to be done yet, I believe, but I'm expecting just a HUGE improvement over last year. At QB....
Well, I'm convinced Goff has all the physical ability he needs to be very good in the NFL... but that's no guarantee for success and he's off to a rocky start. Like most i'm 'cautiously' optimistic but unlike many I do think he has the tools. In fact, in a few ways, I think Goff exhibits abilities to be better than merely 'good'.
Lot of Herd members have, over the years, said what I'm about to say.... but I don't believe I have ever said it - until now - it depends on our QB. As impatient as I am I think it more than realistic to give Goff at least another year... however... I'd venture to say that we'll be able to make a very good guess by the end of this season.
As for the time it takes to rebuild, or similarly the 'I'll believe it when I see it".... I do not recall ever seeing a team, (not that I follow them all closely), that became good yet did NOT exhibit those good signs when W's were tough. If we're on our way that ALONE should make for a good season for Ram fans.
I'll finish with this: It's possible the final W count will be disappointing... perhaps more than likely, and yet for me, and I think many, the Rams could have an exciting and very entertaining season. If some of the right moves have been made... coaches, players, gameplans... the 'signs' will be visible, if one is watching for them. - JamesJM
