Honestly I'm not sure why any of you are surprised by these comments
The Rams aren't going to be good offensively and if they are McVay will win coach of the year
Tavon Austin is hurt and he is their only WR with the physical ability to stretch the field vertically but can't seem to do it. He is not reliable
On top of that they have what appears to be very much a project at QB. It'd be different if the Rams had Brady because he operates at such an otherworldly level he could win with these WRs
The comments are not surprising. The Rams essentially did this offseason what Jeff Fisher did in that 2011 and 2012 offseason. Sign a FA WR (Steve Smith) who is no more than solid, drafted the likes of Chris Givens, Austin Petis, Stedman Baily, and Lance Kendricks
We have read this book before. The only difference is offensively McVay is not Fisher. That will count for something. However, my expectations are low. At least for this year.
They are low ... until they aren't.
