Why is Donald holding out? This is NOT a situation where a demanding player holds out to force a contract revision. Both the player and the team agree on the extension. Demoff has even said AD is "a special player who deserves a special contract." There's no antagonism or coercion in any of this. The negotiations would go at the same pace whether he reported or held out...the hold out makes absolutely no difference either way. So why is he doing it?
He has no hold card he's attempting to play.
Anyway the quoted statement above is really based on nothing but assumption.
Demoff or anyone else in the organization are not coming out in the media and stating that the situation is acrimonious.
What comes out in the media (from most media pundits) is what the team wants to come out in the way they want it to come out.
But the longer this impasse goes the more opportunity there is for it to become that way.
IF/WHEN one side draws a line in the sand...What happens then?
I wish the Rams had taken a different approach, this was a time they should have used The Patriot Way.
Gauged what it was going to take to sign him, and if they determined it was more than they could/would pay..traded him.
No player especially an undersized DT is bigger than the team.Let me ask you a question against my better judgement.
AD an undersized DT has had great seasons and the Rams have yet to make it to even 500.
What do you suppose a QB having equally great seasons effect would have been on the Rams overall record?
Pay him qb money? Pfffttt
